Having a baby and choosing everything you will need for your new bundle of joy can be a very fun process. It can also be very time consuming and confusing. What exactly will you need? Below is a list of the most useful and important baby gear and furniture that will give you peace of mind from a safety as well as convenience standpoint.
Car Seats – this is required item you will need in order to travel with your new baby. You must have a rear-facing car seat for your infant. Used car seats may have the current standards set forth by the government so please consider that when opting for a used car seat.
Stroller – another item that will be very helpful in traveling with your baby. While umbrella type of strollers are great and very convenient, until your baby can hold his head up on his own, you should have a stroller that has a full recline. You’ll have plenty of space to put all your stuff too!
Crib – Cribs come in all different types, including a standard traditional crib, round cribs, canopy cribs and convertible cribs. You will have many choices for your crib bedding as well.
Changing Table – though not absolutely necessary, they can really save your back from added strain making changing clothing and diapers a breeze. The tables also offer additional storage space for diapers, wipes, and any other baby related items right at your finger tips.
High chairs – are very helpful when your baby starts to eat more real food. Make sure the high chair is very stable. Safety, restraint belts should be a concern when shopping for the high chair as well. Placing a floor mat or even a trash bag under it will help you with clean up after your baby eats too.
